From left to right : Nikola Teslovich, Nicolas Seranio, and Zachary Kornberg Nick's bio Nick Teslovich grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and stayed in the area to attend college at Carnegie Mellon University where he studied Biology and Biomedical Engineering. During college he ran a small business repairing small engines and restoring vintage motorcycles and oddly enough competed in national foosball tournaments. After college he took a position as a research technician in an immunogenomics laboratory at Harvard Medical School for two years using mass cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing to look for novel immune cell populations in autoimmune disease. When outside the lab in Boston he started participating in amateur automotive racing events. He moved to the Bay Area in 2015 to attend Stanford Medical School and never looked back. During medical school he participated in Global Health research studying surgical outcomes in underdeveloped countries. He also joined the Urologic Cancer Innovation Laboratory under Dr. Geoffrey Sonn and studied the use of MRI in prostate cancer detection and planning for focal therapies of prostate cancer. During medical school Nick was drawn to Urology by the breadth of surgical procedures, the potential applications of bioengineering and of course, the people. When he’s not in the hospital, you can usually find Nick in his garage listening to oldies and getting greasy working on a car or motorcycle preparing for a weekend ride or race. Nicolas's bio Zachary's bio Congratulations to our residents for an outstanding group of presentations at the NorCal meeting this weekend!
